What could be better than the first El Clásico of the EuroLeague season on a Friday night? Barcelona arrives on a high after a strong EuroLeague double round, winning both games in thrilling fashion. They first edged Milano 74–72 at home and then escaped Belgrade with a dramatic win over Partizan thanks to Will Clyburn’s incredible 11-meter three-pointer in the final minute.

Those victories lifted the Catalans to 5–3 — a record that flatters their actual level of play. However, they paid the price domestically with a Liga Endesa loss to Murcia, and even worse, Tornike Shengelia, the previous round’s EuroLeague MVP, suffered an injury that makes his participation in what would be his first El Clásico highly doubtful.

🏀 Prediction: Real Madrid Over 83.5 points @1.80

Barcelona remains one of the most unpredictable teams in the EuroLeague. They rely heavily on perimeter shooting, and without Shengelia, their offensive structure becomes even more fragile. Clyburn and Punter have shown flashes, but their inconsistency — combined with Hernangomez’s defensive issues and Vesely’s declining impact — leaves Barcelona exposed against disciplined teams.

Barcelona vs Real Madrid

Their defense has also struggled against physical opponents, conceding 80+ points in three of their last four EuroLeague games. Facing a Real Madrid squad that thrives on fast transitions and inside dominance, this could be a major problem.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, seems to be finding its rhythm after a slow start. Their 4–4 EuroLeague record doesn’t reflect their current form. Campazzo has rediscovered his pace and confidence, leading an offense that now moves the ball fluently.

Walter Tavares is again a dominant force inside, while Trey Lyles and Mario Hezonja have both added offensive versatility. In their last two games, Los Blancos have averaged over 86 points, showing clear improvement in scoring efficiency. Even away from home, their offensive ceiling remains among the highest in Europe.

Given Barcelona’s current defensive instability and Madrid’s momentum, the visitors are well-positioned to surpass 83.5 points. Scariolo’s team has too many weapons, both inside and out, and they’ve scored 85+ in five of their last six games against Barça. Expect Real Madrid to continue their strong offensive trend and use this Clásico to make a statement. Check out other basketball predictions here.
