Los Blancos sit third in La Liga. They trail leaders Barcelona by three points and second placed Atletico Madrid by one. Their league record shows eight wins and two defeats from 10 games.

Madrid have won five games in all competitions since the derby loss to Atletico. On Wednesday they beat RB Leipzig 4 to 1 in the Champions League. They have also won nine of their last 10 matches against Racing.

Racing came back to La Liga this season through the Segunda Division. They have three wins, two draws and five defeats from 10 league games. That leaves them 13th with 11 points.

The hosts are in good form, though. They beat Espanyol 2 to 1 in the league last weekend. Then they won 2 to 0 against Ribadesella CF in the Copa del Rey.

Yassir Zabiri leads the attack with eight goals in 10 league games. Racing last beat Madrid in April 2007, a 2 to 1 home win. Left back Jorge Salinas is suspended and Simon Eriksson is out with a shoulder injury.

Madrid have their own problems. Rodrygo, Ferland Mendy and Raul Asencio are out, and Vinicius Junior is suspended. Valverde and Courtois should be fit, and Dumfries could start at right back.
