That level of focus and leadership will be essential if Monaco hopes to finally go one step further than last season’s runner-up finish.

Monaco’s offseason signing of Nikola Mirotic was meant to push them over the top, but the star forward has yet to find consistency or chemistry within Spanoulis’ system. Meanwhile, Daniel Theis continues to anchor the paint with his experience and defensive IQ, and Alpha Diallo is emerging as a true two-way force.

Diallo’s 27-point explosion against Olympiacos was another reminder of his growing influence, and he’s now a legitimate contender for Defensive Player of the Year honors. With Strazel and Okobo still finding rhythm, Spanoulis’ team remains dangerous — and with a few roster additions expected soon, Monaco’s ceiling could rise even higher.

The head-to-head record between these two sides stands evenly at 3–3 over their last six meetings, with the home team winning every time. Maccabi’s inconsistency makes them difficult to trust, but their pride and desperation may fuel a much stronger showing here.
