Our Singapore Grand Prix prediction backs Max Verstappen to win again on Sunday at Marina Bay. The race starts at 20:00 local time (12:00 UTC) on 11 October. It is round 17 of the 2026 season and the last sprint weekend of the year. We also like Lewis Hamilton for a podium.

Russell Starts From the Back
The big news came on Wednesday. George Russell’s power unit failed at Sepang, Mercedes are fitting a new one, and he will start Sunday’s race from the back of the grid. Saturday’s Sprint is not affected.
That matters here more than most places. Russell won Singapore from pole last year. Now one of the quickest cars on the grid starts at the back on a street circuit.
Verstappen Finally Won One
Verstappen went to Sepang without a win in 2026. He took pole and won, with Kimi Antonelli second and Hamilton third. Leclerc was fourth and Hadjar fifth, and Russell retired on lap 49.
The drivers’ standings after 16 rounds:
• Antonelli 320
• Russell 236
• Hamilton 214
• Leclerc 191
• Norris 188
• Verstappen 188
Mercedes won 11 of the first 15 races, so this has not been a Red Bull season. But the bookmakers make Verstappen favourite this weekend, and so do we.
Pole Has Won the Last Three Here
Marina Bay is hard to pass on. The last three Singapore races were all won from pole: Sainz in 2023, Norris in 2024 and Russell in 2025. Six different drivers have won the last six editions.

Last year Verstappen finished second, 5.4 seconds behind Russell. Norris was third and is the only driver with a podium here in each of the last three seasons.
Verstappen at 3.50 Is the Price We Want
At 3.50 the bookies give him about a 29% chance. We think it is closer to one in three. He is the man in form after Sepang, he was runner-up here last year, and Russell will not be near the front at the start.
Antonelli is the danger. He leads the title race by 84 points and has won at Miami and Monaco this year, two other street tracks. He is around 5.00. But Verstappen took both pole and the win last week, and the last three winners here all started from pole. If he puts it on pole again on Saturday night, he will be very hard to pass.
Keep an eye on the weather. F1.com gives a 40% chance of rain on Sunday, with storms most likely in the mid to late afternoon, before the 20:00 start.
Can Hamilton Get Back on the Podium in Singapore?
Hamilton has won this race four times. He was third at Sepang and sits third in the standings on 214 points.
At 2.25 the implied chance is about 44%. With Russell at the back, one of the cars that normally fights for the top three is out of the way. That makes Hamilton’s price look fair to slightly generous.
The risk is clear. Verstappen, Antonelli, Leclerc and Norris all want the same three places, and Norris has a better recent record at this track. That is why this is a smaller stake.
So our Singapore Grand Prix prediction is Verstappen to win at 3.50, with Hamilton on the podium at 2.25 as a smaller second bet. Russell’s grid drop has made the front of this race more open than usual, and we want to be with the driver who won last time out.
