A goalless first leg in Sofia keeps this tie wide open on paper, but the underlying picture was not as even as the scoreline. AEK carried the better of the chances at the Vasil Levski, and now they get the tie back at the OPAP Arena, where they are a genuinely difficult side to play against. The Greek champions also opened their league campaign with a 4-0 win, so the attack is clearly in working order. Levski deserve credit for what they have done. Breaking the long Ludogorets grip on the Bulgarian title was a real achievement and they have carried that form into the new season. The concern is that they set up to contain in the home leg and still could not create much, and now they have to come out and take risks at some stage in Athens. That should open space for a home side that is comfortable playing on the front foot. The straight win price is too short to be interesting, which is why the small handicap is the better route in.
