Arsenal - Chelsea

Two unbeaten sides, both with perfect starts, and a fixture that rarely stays quiet. The reason to look at goals rather than a result is the state of the Arsenal back line. William Saliba and Jurrien Timber are both ruled out, Cristhian Mosquera has a hamstring scare, and Ezri Konsa comes into a defence that has not played together. Arsenal have kept two clean sheets to open the campaign, but they did that with a settled unit, and this is the first weekend where it is patched up. The timing of the opponent could hardly be worse. Chelsea have won four of their last five and the recent scorelines tell the story: 4-3 against Brighton and 3-2 away at Fulham. Cole Palmer, Joao Pedro and Morgan Rogers have all started sharply, and Xabi Alonso has them moving the ball forward quickly rather than settling for control. None of that is a case against Arsenal. Bukayo Saka settled the Villa game, the home side have the better platform and they will make plenty of their own chances. It is simply a read on how open this should be. Three goals across ninety minutes, with one defence missing its two best players and the other facing a front line in this mood, is not asking for much.
