Michelsen comes into this one red-hot, riding a six-match winning streak on hard courts after picking up a Challenger title just last week, so his rhythm and confidence are right where you'd want them. Mannarino is a tricky lefty who can frustrate anyone, but he has never gotten past the second round here in five trips to Washington and has looked patchy lately. On a quicker hard court the younger man's power and cleaner ball-striking should tell, and he reads the slice serve better than most.
