They will be a team that will try to reach peak form somewhere in the middle of the season. This game will be tough for them, and City, as an opponent, is just not good for them.

 

Newly promoted Cardiff will struggle this season. A lot of bookies expect them to go down after the end of the season.

Their opposition today is no walkover. Ever since their promotion, AFC Bournemouth has been playing good football and will likely continue to do so this season.

Playing your first game away after being promoted is always tough. So it should be a comfortable victory for the home side. 

This will be one of the most interesting games of the first matchday. Newly promoted Wolves have strengthened their squad with a lot of players. Everton is in the same boat, and they have a new coach.

Both teams will likely fight for a finish in an upper half of the table. It will be interesting to see how both teams look in their first game.

Predicting a winner is a bit tough here. So it would be better to expect that both teams will score at least once. 

Both teams have won their first game of the Championship. However, Aston Villa is playing at home, and a lot of people believe that they will be fighting for promotion this year.

Newcastle will have high expectations this season again. There were some suggestions that they would get relegated last campaign. However, the team continued to surprise everyone.

Tottenham will likely not field all of their best players after a long World Cup campaign for England and Belgium. And they are playing away, so chances of winning are slimmer.

It would be better to predict that both teams will score. It will be the first game of the season, and defenders will not be ready 100 percent.

It will be a nice opener for those who follow France league. Marseille have made it to the final of the Europa League last season. This time they will look to make another mark in European competition as well as the domestic league.

They will be playing the first game at home against a relatively weak opposition. It should be a comfortable win for Marseille. 

Leipzig was in the Champions League last season. This time around they were not so lucky as to play there again. However, a European competition is not something that you do not want to participate in.

Germans have a much better team overall, they are playing at home. Meanwhile, this Romanian side is by no means a top quality team. Even in their domestic league, there are plenty of teams who have better squads than they do. 

I foresee a comfortable win for a home side and quite a few goals.

Given that Sevilla will try to finish the game and the whole tie as quickly as possible, we can expect to see at least a couple of goals early in the game. Zalgiris will likely crumble and concede their second goal before the first half is over.

The difference between these two teams is just too big. Moreover, the Lithuanian team will have to play in front of a really massive crowd. Not to mention the heat in Spain.

An opener of the new season for millions of fans of the Premier League.

Manchester United fans expect to see a couple more signings before the deadline. Leicester have lost their best player, Mahrez, to City. And it does seem like Vardy is running out of steam.

United will be missing Matic this game. However, it will likely be Fred to replace him. 

Overall, Manchester side tends to win their openers. They have home advantage, and Leicester is not the team that has won the League a couple of years ago. 

This is one of the tougher matches to predict among the ones that are left for this qualifying round.

Both teams are somewhat similar in terms of their level. PAOK are playing at home today, so they have a slight advantage. However, we can expect the Russians to try and get an away goal and improve their chances to reach the next stage.

Judging by the opponents that Benfica has had for their pre-season and the results, we can definitely expect them to not have too many problems this game, especially when they are playing in front of a home crowd. 

Fenerbahce is not a bad team. However, they will have to be lucky to get anything past the Portuguese powerhouse.

Ajax has shown that they will likely go far in this qualifier. In fact, most football fans expect them to reach the main tournament. The team has made a couple of new signings and continues to improve with every game. They had a decent pre-season and should be reaching the form we can expect from them for this season.

Standard de Liege is no pushover. However, between the two teams, you have to give the advantage to the Dutch side. 

Two legendary teams will be playing their last game of the pre-season. 

During recent years, Manchester United have declined in quality quite a lot and are no longer the powerhouse of Europe like they were before.

Bayern will likely win the game and score a couple of goals. United should get at least one goal too. Therefore, it is safe to say that there will be at least 3 goals.

It is an end to the pre-season. Both Arsenal and Lazio will have high hopes for the upcoming season. They will try to fight for the Champion's League spot, but it will be a real uphill battle.

Predicting the winner for this game is difficult. Instead, if we consider that both teams will try to reach their form for the domestic league, we can expect quite a few goals. Both sides like to attack and will try to get past the opposition.
 

Porto is the best team in Portugal and has been one for many years. Sure, you could say that Benfica has managed to clinch a title here and there, but looking at the recent years of the Portuguese football, it is Porto.

Ave is nowhere near the level of their opponents. I strongly believe that this will be a comfortable win for Porto and we will see more than a couple of goals in this game. 

Dutch Super Cup game will be a prelude to the new season in the Netherlands. 

Between the two teams, Eindhoven has an advantage. The last couple of years, they have shown that they have much more experienced and have managed to reach greater heights on the International stage. It is highly likely that they will be top contenders to win the Eredivisie. Ajax might be their rivals this year if they can meet the expectations of everyone 

Whatever the case may be, this game will not be too one-sided, but PSV is the better side of the two. 

A lot of people have expected for this Tottenham side to get a couple of new signings. However, it would seem that Mauricio Pochettino is happy with the squad he has and trusts the players.
So far in their pre-season, Tottenham have shown a lot of great results even though a lot of their key players were missing. They can expect some new reinforcements for this game. 
Girona is not a European powerhouse, so they will likely struggle with this English side. 

Borussia Dortmund have shown that they are ready to fight this year. Judging by their form during the previous game of the pre-season, they showed a lot of potential against the top teams of Europe.

Stade Rennes is nowhere near the level of what you would find in the Champions League. And that is where we have come to expect Dortmund to play every year.

It should be a relatively comfortable victory for the German side, and they should also score a few goals. 

It was a rather big surprise that the Danish side has managed to win the first game 1:0. AIK is the favorite for this tie. They are playing at home, and will likely try to make sure that they reach the next stage.

Nordsjaelland hold a one goal lead, but this result is very fragile. it is highly likely that they will try to focus on defense and try to hold on to this lead. 

This should give AIK plenty of opportunities to attack and score more than one goal, which should seal their ticket to the next stage. 

The first game ended in a 1:1 draw. A rather surprising result, considering that Burnley is considered to be the favorites for this tie.

English side is playing at home this time. While the 0:0 result will get them to the next stage thanks to a goal away advantage, it would be silly to expect them to just hold on to this lead.

Instead, they will likely go for the win. GIven the home advantage and a better overall lineup, we should definitely expect for Burnley to win this game.
