This spread is a gift, with BYU being the more dominant team here. BYU is coming off a tough OT lose to Saint Mary's - a top 25 team, and will be looking to get back to their winning ways. 

Northern Colorado are 5-0-1 ATS in their last five away games. Two of their loses have come against teams who can defend, this isn't the case with Montana State. They struggle with both the two and the three, with the former giving them the biggest challenge. Northern Colorado just happens to be most proficient with their 2P%. Take Northern Colorado to cover on the road as they dominant the inside on both sides of the ball.

The 76ers beat the Trailblazers a month ago by 20 points with Joel Embiid scoring 28 points. The 76ers have shown some inconsitencies, but mainly when Embiid is out. Check the headlines, Embiid is playing, take the points and throw some on the moneyline because the 76ers win this one straight up.

This is a pretty interesting matchup as you have two opposite teams in tempo facing off. In their last game out, Oakland was able to find a huge lead at half. Look for them to control the tempo early in this game, similar to their last outing against Eastern Michigan. Milwaukee may start making a run, but it wouldn't be enough to snag the win or cover. Side with the Golden Grizzlies on this small spread!

Even though they are on a two-game losing streak, Northern Iowa has played one of the toughest non-conference schedules over the last two months. With a solid defense, they will be able to limit Southern Illinois from running up the score. Take the Panthers to cover.

This match up provides great value as Valparaiso's lead scorer and rebounder, Tevonn Walker, returns after missing four games. He was diagnosed after the Purdue game, which has been allowed Valparaiso to fall into a slump. Four-game stretch saw Valparaiso fall out of the top 100 in the NCAA, but I expect Walker to come back strong tonight and lead his team to victory on the road.  

Syracuse has struggled to cover larger spreads over their fairly easy schedule. Go grab the points with Eastern Michigan!

The Celtics are coming off a tough home loss to the Wizards and have been a below 0.500 team since their hot-start. They'll be missing Jaylen Brown and Marcus Morris. Those are what the headlines will tell you and must have been what oddsmarkers were reading when they decided on this spread. The Celtics lost to a Wizards team led by John Wall and Bradley Beal, who are starting to click since Wall's return a few weeks ago. They still have Kyrie Irving, Al Horford, and Jayson Tatum. The Celtics' ability to shoot the three will partially remove Dwight Horward as a defensive threat. That alone should be enough for the Celtics cover this small spread. Take into account that the Hornets are 0-4 ATS in home games vs. teams with a winning record, and I'd suggest you go ahead and place the bet now.

Xavier opens up conference play at Marquette. Marquette has signature wins over Vermont and Wisconsin in December, both teams with weak defenses. This is not the case for Xavier, a team with a top 10 offense and a top 50 defense. Their only lose this season has been to an extremely efficient Arizona State. While conference games are tough, expect Xavier to control the tempo and start to pull away in the second half. This line has moved an entire point in Marquette's favor, so I highly suggest to take the gift and fade the public in the Big East Conference opener.

Houston travels to LSU after a road victory over Saint Louis. With an 8-1 record, the Houston Cougars have been busy in December, grabbing a road victory against Saint Louis and domianting a good Arkansas team on their homecourt. While some may point to the Cougar's early game against Liberty as a sign of struggles on the road, that Liberty team has a defense that ranks near the top 50 in the NCAA. Liberty slowed Houston down offensively as they struggled to grab defensive rebounds and hit the three ball. That won't be the case tonight, as Houston faces a LSU team that has proven its offensive efficiency, but shown its incapable of defending against the three-pointer and winning the rebound battle, two of Houston's biggest strengths. Houston with the road victory, expect this one to look less like LSU's win over Michigan and more like their lose over Marquette, or worse, Notre Dame. 

Russell Westbrook is having a better season than the last, but the Thunder have not be able to reap the benefits. Since adding two superstars, the Thunder find themselves sitting below 0.500, with only three of their wins coming on the road. Despite a losing record, the Thunder have been the favorite in all but one game, demonstrating a consistent overvaluation by Vegas. While the Pacers have struggled with their chemistry, the Pacers have really started to click, winning four straight. Victor Oladipo is having a career season with a true shooting percentage of 59%. Look for him to lead the Pacers to a victory at home.

The 76ers have struggled on the road, but center Joel Embiid is back in the lineup. The 76ers have not had an issue scoring, but their defense has been lacking. Having Embiid in the lineup should help solve that problem, expect a close one in Minnesota. 

Jacksonville St. keeps this one close with its ability to shoot and guard the three, against a side that has demonstrated the exact opposite this year. Both teams match up pretty evenly aside from that, so I'll take the points.  

San Diego's efficient defense, which causes turnovers 17% of the time, matches up with a Colorado offense that struggles with ball protection. Colorado still has the edge here due to its rebounding ability and home-court advantage. The line has moved two points since opening, giving San Diego even more room, making it an opportunity to fade the public. San Diego's defense keeps this one close. 

Burnley faces a Stoke team at home that lost to the Spurs 5-1 over the weekend. Burnley's defensive has been extremely impressive on their year, finding themselves in the top half of the table. If you prefer less risk, there is an handicap available for a pk,-0.5, but I advise to take Burnley to win at home against a weak Stoke side.

While Reading has been strong over the last few weeks, they have struggled to score at home. Couple this with Cardiff's average of 2.15 points per game, and it is clear that the value lies with Cardiff City in a pick match. 

Toronto has been playing great basketball on the road and 7-0 ATS against teams with a losing record. Without Blake Griffin, the Clipper's defense continues to struggle, giving up 114.2 ppg over their last few games. Expect Toronto to score plenty of points on the Clippers to cover the five points. 

Drake has played some impressive games this year with wins against Wake Forest and Drexel and close loses to Colorado and Wyoming. While they recently suffered a blowout against South Dakota, it came at the end of a stretch on the road. Minnesota has suffered two loses on the road and will get back to its winning ways tonight against Drake at home, but expect this one to stay within the points.
