But, let's not forget he raced with quite mediocre groups so far and his only win in Wolverhampton was within a quite bad group of horses. Lady Makfi and Little Stampy seem to be legitimate competitors on the paper, but not so much in reality for me. Both of them are mares, so distance might be a problem amongs male horses. Lady Makfi already had a long break and returned from it with quite a disappointing performance and she had to pause one more time. Whereas Little Stampy might have shining numbers in Wolverhampton, but this group is much harder than all of the ones she had been raced against in this course.
Zakatal might seem to have an inconsistent form, but it mainly depends which groups he ran against. This year he had been either placed, or won, when he ran in such caliber of groups, even slightly stronger ones, and stayed irrelevant when he competed against much higher caliber of groups. His record in Wolverhampton at the races with distance bigger than 2m is 2-1-2-2 (Last three of them were in last couple years and couple of those races were in slightly better groups.) and 2-1-5 with his jockey Dougie Costello. All in all, favorites are not convincing me and Zakatal to be a legitimate challenger is priced a bit highly to my taste. There is enough value to spend medium stakes.

Dhalam is the favorite rightly as Frankie Dettori keeps riding him and his all weather debut was an impressive one against experienced opponents, whereas Karijini could have won her debut race as she lost the second place in the final meters and when entering the last couple hundred meters of the race, she was in a contending position. But, Dhalam hadn't been tested in this distance and this will be both first try at Wolverhampton course. The debutants I fancy are Subhaan and Plutonian.
Subhaan has a very in form jockey&trainer duo with 3 yo at all weather, he's a product of Al Maktoum's yard. The progeny of his dam is full of race winners in short distances and all of the members of that progeny had won a race within their first two starts.
Plutonian doesn't have such in form jockey&trainer duo as Subhaan has, but he has a very promising pedigree. His siblings include group and listed race winners in similar distances, they won four out of eleven all weather races and got placed in an another one.
I believe both Subhaan and Plutonian have more chances than the odds suggest, investing small stakes would be a wise decision on them.

The favorite of the race is a maiden gelding, who will make his handicap debut tonight, even though he competed against opponents with bigger potentials so far, this is the first time he'll run with older opponents. Mr Chuckles is an another name to be seem to be in form, but all of his latest places were at the longer distanced races and I doubt his pedigree will suit such short distance. Dandilion lost to one of her opponents, Frangarry, last time out, but Wolverhampton is her favorite course and she'll have Callum Shepherd on her, the jockey with who, she won a race and placed in the other out of three tries. Moreover, she had been placed in all three races at this course and the distance within similar caliber of groups. There are some exposed names, who might perform surprisingly good, and I'm hesitant since this is the first race of today's card at Wolverhampton, therefore I increase my stakes and go with the safer option, Dandilion to be placed.
