Manchester United v Burnley Preview and Prediction

On Tuesday night, Manchester United host Burnley at Old Trafford, as the hosts look to maintain a hundred per cent record under interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

United have now recorded eight consecutive wins under the Norwegian boss in all competitions. The Red Devils recent good form has moved the men from Manchester to within three points of Chelsea, who occupy the last Champions League spot in the Premier League.

United recorded a 3-1 win at Arsenal in the fourth round of the FA Cup last time out. Prior to the win in north London, United had recorded a 2-1 home win over Brighton in their last league outing.

The home side has been prolific in front of goal since the arrival of Solskjaer, only failing to score two or more goals in one of the new bosses eight matches in charge.

Burnley’s most recent outing was also in Manchester, as the Clarets suffered a 5-0 trouncing at City in the FA Cup fourth round. However, the Clarets recent league form has improved of late and Sean Dyche’s team are four matches unbeaten in the top-flight. A 0-0 draw at Watford in their last top-flight match ended a three-game winning run.

Despite their recent good run of form, the team from Lancashire are still only three points above the relegation zone. Anything from their trip to Old Trafford would be a bonus in the fight for survival for the Clarets.
