Bayern Munich v Eintracht Frankfurt Preview and Prediction

On Saturday night, Bavarian giants Bayern Munich face Eintracht Frankfurt in the Olympiastadion Berlin in the German Cup Final.

Bayern has once again dominated the Bundesliga after the early season appointment of veteran boss Jupp Heynckes. Ironically, though, Eintracht Frankfurt boss Niko Kovac will replace the experienced Heynckes this summer as Bayern boss. Meanwhile, Adi Huetter will replace the former Croatia international in the Eintracht Frankfurt dugout.

Heynckes came out of retirement to rescue the German giants and could now seal the domestic double. The champions have not been at their best of late, though, winning just two of their last five games in all competitions. However, Die Roten are expected to lift their game to give club icon Heynckes a winning send-off.

Bayern could very well do that too, as the German Behemoths have won 27 of their 33 games in the DFB Pokal.

Eintracht Frankfurt finished just outside the Europa League spots this season after another good season under highly-rated Croatian boss Kovac. Finishing seventh in the Bundesliga means Frankfurt have to win this clash to enjoy European football next season.

Kovac’s team have a good recent record in the German Cup, having recorded ten wins from their last 11 outings in the competition. Die Adler has also managed to keep clean sheets in their last five games in this competition.
