Canadian Open that is also known as Rogers Cup is the one that will get tennis fans’ attention this August.
The competition starts on August 5 and it will take 8 days.
This year men are going to play in Montreal while women occupy Toronto.
However, these things do not interest us as much as participants and favorites to win it this year, right?
So let’s get down to business.
Last year we witnessed Novak Djokovič beat Kei Nishikori in the final. Djoko managed to win quite easily in two sets: 6-3 and 7-5.
In women singles Simona Halep 7-6(7-2), 6-3 proved her superiority over Madison Keys.
This year as usual the Canadian Open is going to gather top players from all over the world. Well, almost.
This year we will see no Djoko as he skips this one so we can be sure we will have another winner. On the positive note, there are many huge names in the entry list. Among them are Andy Murray, Rafael Nadal, Stan Wawrina, Roger Federer and others.
We can expect much from player like Marin Čilič. He successfully showed his skills at Wimbledon where managed to reach the final. Sounds good, right?
