Chelsea v Arsenal Preview and Prediction

In the Premier League’s late kick-off on Saturday, Chelsea host London rivals Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.

The two teams enjoyed contrasting fortunes on the opening weekend of the Premier League season. Chelsea recorded a comfortable 3-0 win at Huddersfield, while Arsenal went down to a 2-0 home defeat against reigning champions Manchester City.

Chelsea will head into this London derby in confident mood. The Blues have failed to beat Arsenal in the last six meetings, although five of those meetings have finished in draws.

The home side are undefeated against the Gunners in six home games in the Premier League. In fact, Arsenal’s last win at Stamford Bridge in the top-flight was back in 2012 in a 5-3 victory.

Arsenal’s poor start under new boss Unai Emery was not totally unexpected, as Pep Guardiola’s City side headed to the Emirates Stadium as big favourites.

Emery will need time to changes things in north London. One of the biggest changes he needs to make is in the team’s away form, as they have suffered defeat in seven of their last eight games on their travels in the Premier League.

The Gunners have also conceded at least twice in six of their last eight games on the road in the English top-flight.
