English Championship: Nottingham v Brentford Preview and Prediction

Date/Time: Saturday 9th February 2019 (Kick-off 4:00 PM CET). 

There is going to be a contrast of styles on display in this League game on Saturday with Nottingham Forest perhaps a little more cautious with their football compared with Brentford who love to get forward and score goals.

When Brentford are at their best they are very enjoyable to watch and in the last month they have begun to show why they were considered a potential top six club earlier this season.

A poor run after Dean Smith left to manage Aston Villa has probably cost them any chance of that now, but Brentford are flying in the FA Cup and they head to a part of the East Midlands they have enjoyed in recent years. The Bees have come away with the three points in 4 consecutive visits to Nottingham Forest and they are a team creating a lot of chances.

However Brentford are still vulnerable at the back and they have conceded at least twice in their last couple of away games. Now they visit Nottingham Forest under the new management of Martin O'Neill and Roy Keane and a team who have won 2 of their last 3 at home and scored plenty of goals in those wins.

The way Brentford approach things should give Nottingham Forest their chances in this one too, especially being at home, and I do think the teams can combine for three or more goals on Saturday. Potential windy conditions are a concern in Nottingham this weekend, but Brentford can play their part in another high-scoring fixture and I will back at least three goals to be shared out.
