Date/Time: Saturday 2nd February 2019 (Kick-off 4:00 PM CET).
Two teams on the edge of the relegation zone in the Premier League meet on Saturday, but the recent performances and results earned by Burnley and Southampton is a key reason they are both outside of the bottom three.
Burnley have earned 11 points from the last 15 available in the League, while Southampton have picked up 8 points in that time and that is telling when both clubs are 4 points clear of Cardiff City in 18th place.
You have to credit Ralph Hasenhuttl for turning around Southampton after the struggles under Mark Hughes, and 2 wins from their last 3 away Premier League games has to be respected. However they won't have the counter attacking opportunities that Huddersfield Town and Leicester City have offered up because Burnley have gone back to basics and that is set up to be hard to beat and taking the opportunities when they come their way through set pieces and forcing mistakes from opponents.
Burnley have won 3 of their last 4 Premier League games at home and they were leading 0-2 at Old Trafford on Tuesday which shows a team playing with a lot of confidence. They have a strong recent home record against Southampton and this is a fixture which could see one goal decide things in favour of one or the other.
My lean is with the home team who look to be in slightly more confident form and a bit more secure with the system and formation Sean Dyche is likely to employ. That could make all the difference in a tight game and I will back Burnley on the Asian Handicap that will return the stake in the event of a draw.
Prediction: Burnley 0 Asian Handicap
