On Saturday night, world champions Germany face a crucial Group F game against Sweden at the World Cup.
Germany are the holders of the World Cup but suffered a 1-0 defeat in their opener against Mexico. The defeat was not a major surprise, as Die Mannschaft have won just once in their last seven outings, suffering defeats in three of their last four games.
Joachim Low’s side cannot afford to lose this game, as a defeat and Mexico picking up anything from their game with South Korea would mean elimination for the champions. If the Germans suffer defeat and elimination then they will be the second reigning champions in a row after Spain in 2014 to exit at the group stage.
Sweden recorded a very narrow 1-0 win over South Korea in their World Cup opener. The win ended a four-game run without a win for the Scandinavian team. Janne Andersson’s side has kept three straight clean sheets.
