Date/time: 28th June 2018 kick-off 3 PM (GMT)
On Thursday afternoon, Japan and Poland go head-to-head in Group H of the World Cup, as the Asian nation looks to book their spot in the knockout stages of the competition.
Japan head into gameweek three as group leaders and need just a point to book their place in the last 16. However, if they want to top the group then they will have to better Senegal’s result against Colombia. Poland have already suffered elimination from the competition after losing both their group games.
Japan have beaten Colombia and last time out drew 2-2 with qualification rivals Senegal. The Blue Samurai have a poor record at World Cups, having won just four times at finals. Another win on Thursday will mean the Asian side will have made it to the last 16 for the fourth time at World Cups.
Poland have endured a miserable World Cup, suffering a 2-1 defeat against Senegal in their opening game before Colombia hammered Adam Nawalka’s side 3-0 last time out. If Poland fails to score in this game, then it will be the Poles joint-lowest scoring campaign in a group stage at a finals tournament.
