On Wednesday night, Premier League champions Manchester City play their last game of the season as the Citizens welcome Brighton to the Etihad Stadium.
City lifted the Premier League trophy after a slightly lacklustre 0-0 home draw against Huddersfield last time out. The draw ended a three-match winning run for Pep Guardiola’s team in the Premier League.
The Citizens have been the dominant force of English football, losing just two of their 36 games in the top-flight. The home side has the best defence and attack in the top-flight and can break through the 100-point barrier by winning their last two league games.
Brighton sealed their spot in the Premier League last Friday by defeating City’s arch-rivals Manchester United 1-0 at the Amex Stadium. The win ended a run of six league games without a win for Chris Hughton’s side, whose team’s aim is now to finish in the top-half of the table.
The team from the south coast have struggled for wins on their travels of late, failing to win any of their last 11 Premier League away games, while suffering seven defeats in the process. One of the main factors in the Seagulls struggles on their travels is that they have struggled in front of goal, scoring just four goals in their last 11 away games in the league.
