On Wednesday night, Rosenborg and Valur Reykjavik go head-to-head in Champions League first qualifying round second leg.

Valur heads into this clash 1-0 up from the first leg. However, the home side are slight favourites to win this clash. The Icelandic team may have other ideas though.

Rosenborg have not won a Champions League game in 90 minutes in six games. In fact, the Norwegian side has won just one of their eight outings in Europe’s elite competition. Their last five games in the competition have produced under 2.5 goals in 90 minutes. This game could follow suit.

Valur Reykjavik will be playing just their fourth game in the Champions League on Wednesday night. The Icelandic sides win in the first leg was their first in the competition, after suffering consecutive defeats against BATE Borisov ten years ago in their only other Champions League campaign.

The first leg victory has given Olafur Johannesson’s side a fighting chance of progression to the next round. However, given Rosenborg’s good home form in the competition, it could be a big task to make it to the next round.
