Senegal v Colombia Preview and Prediction

On Thursday afternoon, Senegal and Colombia face off in Group H of the World Cup, with the South Americans needing a positive result to make the knockout stages of the competition.

Senegal have impressed so far at Russia 2018, beating Poland and drawing 2-2 with Japan. The Lions of Teranga would seal their place in the knockout stages with a draw or a win. Aliou Cisse’s side could also still finish top of the group with a win, depending what happens in the Japan-Poland game.

The African side has been hard to beat of late, losing just one of their last 12 games. However, Colombia has the quality to trouble that recent positive record.

Colombia put themselves right back in the qualification picture with a 3-0 hammering of Poland last time out. The win followed a first game 2-1 defeat following Carlos Sanchez’s early dismissal.

The South American side would qualify for the knockout stages with a win in this clash. A draw would be good enough for qualification if Poland defeats Japan in the other game.

However, nothing but a win would do to win the group for Jose Pekerman’s highly rated team.
