On Wednesday night, Serbia and Brazil go head-to-head in Group E of the World Cup, as with both in need of a positive result to qualify for the knockout stages.

Serbia made a positive start to their World Cup 2018 campaign by beating Costa Rica 1-0 in the opening game of the tournament. However, a late 2-1 defeat against Switzerland last time out has hindered their chances of making the last 16.

Mladen Krstajic’s side now needs to win this game or hope that Costa Rica can pull off a shock win against the Swiss in the other game, in which case a draw would be enough to seal a last 16 spot.

Brazil are still the favourites to win the World Cup but have not yet sealed their last place in the knockout stages. A win would see the Selecao qualify for the knockout stages, although they would still need to better Switzerland’s result to top the group.
