Date/Time: Thursday 7th February 2019 (Kick-off 8 PM)
On Thursday night, Real Betis host Valencia at the Estadio Benito Villamarin in the Copa del Rey semi-final first leg.
The two teams are in the fight for the European spots in La Liga and there is just two points between Betis in sixth-place and eighth-place Valencia. However, the two teams turn their attention temporarily away from the Spanish top-flight to the Copa.
Real Betis have beaten Racing Santander, Real Sociedad and Espanyol to make it to the last four of the competition. However, strangely the Andalucian’s have failed to win any of their last four cup matches in 90 minutes. They needed extra-time in the last round to see-off Espanyol, so they do not exactly have a fantastic recent record in the competition.
Valencia has seen off the challenge of Ebro, Sporting Gijon and Getafe in the previous rounds, winning four of their last six Copa del Rey games. However, Los Ches have suffered defeat in three of their last four away games in this competition. Their recent away matches in the Copa del Rey have been low-scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in three of their last four matches.
