On Saturday, the first knockout game of World Cup 2018 takes place, as Uruguay and Portugal go head-to-head in Sochi.

Uruguay finished top of Group A with a perfect record, winning all three of their group games, while also not conceding in a group containing hosts Russia, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

Oscar Tabarez’s side has now won their last six international games while keeping clean sheets in all six games. Their recent games have been low scoring, as five of their last eight matches have produced under 2.5 goals.

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez will be hoping to add to the two goals he has already netted at Russia 2018.

One player who has shone in Russia is Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored four goals in the first group games but also missed a penalty kick in their final group game against Iran. The 33-year-old will be confident of mounting a challenge to win the World Cup Golden Boot.
