FIBA Under-19 World Cup starts in less than a week and once again we will have much of summer basketball action to follow.
This time we will witness a championship which will be hosted in Cairo, Egypt for the first time.
The World Cup tips off on July 1st, 1 P.M. local time. So it is a great chance for European and African basketball viewers.
As usual the favorites to win it all will be the USA squad. Americans won the last two under-19 world competitions so they are going to go for a three-peat, a feat that has never been accomplished in this tournament.
Team USA will be challenged by France who dominated European U18 championship last year. The French side has athletic team that last year had a chance to feature Frank Ntilikina who is soon to become a New York Knick. As well the team showcased French phenomenon Sekou Doumboya. The kid got called French LeBron since he still is 16 years old but dominated much older competition with 17.8 points and 7 rebounds average.
As well Canada seem to keep their reputation as emerging basketball force.
As of now not all rosters are clear and we still do not know what odds bookmakers will give but be prepared to watch a good doze of youth basketball!
